Live collaboration

Draw.Chat enables real-time collaboration on a single whiteboard. Just share the link so that others can join and immediately see all changes as they happen.

Shared whiteboards and their contents are synchronized in the cloud. This way, participants see the current state of the whiteboard in real time and can freely join or leave the session at any time.

As the whiteboard owner, you have full control over access and can assign the following permissions to invited people:

• Viewing access – decide whether the whiteboard will be available publicly via the link, or only to specific people with assigned names.
• Drawing access – choose whether invited people can edit the whiteboard or only view it.
• Chat access – specify whether participants can use text chat during collaboration.

Inviting to collaborate

You can invite other people to work together on the board by sharing a link with them. All changes are visible in real time to every participant.

Only the people you share the link with have access to the board. Depending on the permissions granted, they can view the board or edit it.

A person with the link can open it or pass it on. With named board sharing, you can change the permissions of invited users at any time.

Tip: To keep full control over the board, avoid sharing links without an assigned name. Such links allow many people to join under any names, which can make it harder to manage access later.

Creating and managing invitations

As the board owner, you can invite additional people using the "Share" option on the toolbar.

1. Click the "Share" option.
2. In the "Enter name" field, type the name of the person you want to share the board with.
3. Select the permission scope by checking the appropriate boxes: "Drawing" and "Chatting".
4. If you don’t enter a name, anyone who receives such a link will be assigned a random name or will be able to choose their own.
5. Copy the link to the clipboard by clicking it so you can send or publish it later using any online service. Then open the app or service you want to use to share the link, click where you want to paste the link, and then choose the menu command "Edit > Paste" or use the system keyboard shortcut.
6. Click the share icon to use the system sharing feature or an email client.

Tip: Pressing the Enter key lets you quickly move on to creating another invitation while keeping the most recently selected permissions.

Stop sharing the board

If you are the board owner, you can revoke access for selected people at any time, preventing them from viewing or editing the board.

1. Go to the text input field in the chat.
2. Type /ban ImięOsoby.
3. Click "Send" or press Enter to send the command and block access.

After access is blocked, the user will be removed from the board and their personal link will stop working. You can restore access again using the /unban ImięOsoby.
