Online whiteboard drawing tools

Drawing and writing

Draw.Chat offers a set of tools for drawing and creating handwritten notes: Pen , Crayon , Nib , Line and Highlighter .

The pen is the basic tool for freehand drawing and writing.

Tools such as Crayon and Nib respond to pressure and stylus tilt angle. When working with graphics tablets or compatible touchscreens, line thickness and intensity can change dynamically, giving a natural drawing effect.

The highlighter draws on the back layer by default, which makes it possible to emphasize content without covering drawings and notes.

Drawing freehand shapes

The Auto pen tool lets you draw freehand shapes that are automatically converted into perfect shapes such as triangles, rectangles, or ellipses.

Just draw the shape roughly and close it at the starting point. Draw.Chat will recognize the drawing and replace it with a precise shape.

Shapes ,

You can draw basic shapes, such as rectangles and ellipses.

To draw Rectangle, select and drag the cursor from one corner to the other.

To draw Ellipse, select and start drawing from its center by dragging the cursor to define the shape’s axes.

Tip: Holding down the SHIFT key, you will draw a square or a circle.

Adding arrows

The Arrow tool allows you to visually indicate directions, relationships, or the order of elements on the board.

To draw an arrow, select the tool and then drag the cursor from the starting point (A) to the end point (B). The direction of the drag determines the arrow’s direction.

Adding text

The Text tool allows you to insert editable text blocks on the board.

To add text, click the Text tool, point to a place on the board, type the content, and then confirm it with the Enter key.

Inserting images

On the board, you can place images such as photos, graphics, or SVG files. Images can be added from your disk, from the clipboard, from the internet, or captured directly using the camera.

Adding an image

Choose one of the methods below:

  • drag an image from your computer or a website onto the board,
  • click the Image button on the toolbar and choose a file from your disk,
  • use the Ctrl-V shortcut to paste an image from the clipboard.

After inserting, you can change the image’s position and size by dragging its edges or center. Confirm the changes with the button or the Enter key.

Tip: To move the image precisely, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard.

Copying, cutting, and deleting

The Select tool lets you copy, cut, move, and delete parts of the board.

  1. Select the desired area of the canvas, then use the Copy or Cut option.
  2. Move the selected area to a new location and confirm with the button or the Enter key.

Tip: You can change the size and position of the selection using the handles on the edges.

To delete the selected area, click .

Layers

The board canvas supports two layers: front and back.

Most tools draw on the front layer by default. The highlighter uses the back layer so it doesn’t cover the highlighted elements.

You can change the active layer using the F (front) and B (back) buttons on the toolbar or the keyboard shortcuts 1 and 2.
