How to work through an exam paper together online

A student and tutor work on the same document, each in their own browser.

  1. Open the PDF

Use the official paper button or paste a link to your own document.

  2. Share the whiteboard link

Send a link with editing access to your student, tutor or study partner so they can open the same whiteboard.

  3. Work through it together

Write on the paper, mark important information and compare the steps in your solutions.

Have another paper? Paste a PDF link

On a computer, copy a direct PDF link, return to this page and press Ctrl+V or ⌘V on a Mac. Draw.Chat will open a new whiteboard and start loading the document.

You can also drag a PDF file onto this page. On a phone, or to choose files with a button, use Whiteboard from files.

Before you start

Do I need a Draw.Chat account?

No. You need a browser and an internet connection. You can write on the paper alone or share the whiteboard with editing access.

Can both people write on the paper?

Yes, if you share a link with editing access. You can add solutions and comments and see changes immediately. Use different colors to tell your notes apart.

Do I need a graphics tablet?

No. You can use a mouse, touchpad or stylus, and type with the keyboard. A stylus makes handwriting easier.

Can I keep my notes after the lesson?

Yes. Export the whiteboard to save your solutions and notes.

Where can I find the answers?

Draw.Chat is for working through tasks on your own or together. Available answer keys, explanations and scoring materials are listed with the corresponding materials on this page.
